May You Be Inspired Days: Craft Army Needle Rollup

Today’s piece is a fabulous knitting/crochet needle carry case! I decided that it was time to start recruiting knitters for the CRAFT ARMY! :)So it has tons of needle pockets, including ones that are big enough for round needles and a measuring tape. The inside has white pockets (to ease seeing if something is hiding) along with its US Army seal! It uses a black satin ribbon for tying it  up around its army drab camouflage exterior. I think it’s awesome!Using light box 059 Using light box 068

My little brother is currently serving in our Army overseas at the base that inspired M.A.S.H., so when I saw this fabric I had to buy it. Then I the stitch file crossed my path and I just knew it was perfect. I thought this might be great for someone serving who likes to knit or a gift of appreciation to a veteran. Or a spouse or parent of an serviceperson. And with Memorial Day coming up, it’d be the perfect gift! I’m listing it in my Etsy shop HERE along with some other pictures and details about it. Check it out and let me know what you think!

So my inspirations for this piece are Urban Thread's Craft Army art and their knitting needle roll. Honestly, I made it almost entirely from their tutorial, which is definitely worth checking out. I changed up a few things, like the size and the number of pockets, but it’s a good tutorial. CRAFT magazine has a crafty tutorial for tying up scissors, though it would definitely work for knitting needles. Really, any crayon, colored pencil, or silverware rollup design could be altered to hold any OTHER supply, so it’s not like this is incredibly original in PATTERN. I just think it’s inspired for its DESIGN! :) What do YOU think? Tasteful or tacky?
